I’m unable to find the "Boost Post" button on my Facebook page even though I’m the admin. How can I fix this?

Many Facebook page owners and admins occasionally face issues where the “Boost Post” button suddenly disappears or becomes unavailable. Even with full admin access, factors such as account restrictions, payment issues, page role settings, advertising policy violations, unpublished pages, or Meta Business Suite limitations can prevent the option from appearing. This discussion explores the common reasons why the Boost Post feature may be missing on a Facebook business page and the possible steps to troubleshoot and restore the ability to promote posts successfully.

If you're an admin of the Facebook page but can't see the "Boost Post" button, there could be several reasons behind it.

First, check whether the page is connected to an active ad account in Meta Business Manager. In some cases, the boost option may not appear if there are issues with the ad account, billing setup, or account permissions.

Another common reason is that the post itself may not be eligible for boosting. Certain types of content, including some shared posts, profile picture updates, cover photo updates, or posts containing restricted content, cannot be promoted through the Boost Post feature.

It's also worth verifying that you have full Facebook access rather than limited task-based access. With the newer Page experience, some users are assigned specific tasks instead of full administrative control, which can affect advertising permissions.

If everything appears to be set up correctly, try accessing the page from Meta Business Suite or Ads Manager. Many advertisers create campaigns directly through Ads Manager, which offers more targeting and optimization options than the standard Boost Post button.

Finally, clear your browser cache, try a different browser, or use the Facebook mobile app to rule out a temporary interface issue. If the problem persists, checking the page and ad account status in Meta Business Manager can often reveal any restrictions or policy-related issues preventing promotions.

There are a few common reasons this happens. Try these steps:

    1. Check Your Page Role Make sure you're added as an Admin on the correct Facebook Page not just a personal profile.

    2. Your Post Type May Not Be Eligible Not all posts can be boosted. Facebook doesn't allow boosting for:

    • Posts with copyrighted music
    • Posts that violate ad policies
    • Very old posts
    • Shared posts (only original posts can be boosted)

    3. Add a Payment Method If no payment method is linked to your account, the Boost button may not appear. Go to Settings -> Ads Manager -> Payment Settings and add a card.

    4. Your Ad Account May Be Restricted If Facebook has restricted your ad account, you won't see the Boost option. Check for any policy violation notices in your Ads Manager.

    5. Try a Different Browser or App Sometimes it's just a glitch. Try:

    • Clearing your browser cache
    • Using the Facebook mobile app instead
    • Logging out and back in

    6. Make Sure You're Using a Facebook Page. Not a Profile The Boost button only appears on Pages, not on personal profiles.

If none of these options work, please visit the Facebook Help Center under Ads to report the issue directly.

I’ve handled Facebook ad management for several businesses during my time working with one of the best digital marketing agencies in Dubai and this is actually a fairly common issue. In most cases, the “Boost Post” button disappears because of a restriction or incomplete setup somewhere within the Meta ecosystem. Here’s how I usually troubleshoot it step by step:

First, I check whether the Facebook Page is published and properly connected to a Meta Business Manager account. An unpublished page or disconnected business account can block advertising features instantly.

Next, I review the Page roles and permissions. Even if you are listed as an admin, Meta sometimes requires “Facebook access with full control” inside Business Settings for ad-related actions.

After that, I inspect the ad account status and payment settings. Expired cards, failed billing attempts, or disabled ad accounts are among the most common causes behind missing boost options.

I also recommend checking the Account Quality section inside Meta Business Suite. If the page has policy violations, rejected ads, or suspicious activity warnings, Meta may temporarily restrict promotions.

Finally, I clear the browser cache, switch devices and test through Meta Business Suite directly. In several client cases, this alone restored the button within minutes.
